“HELP is Coming to Your Community” - Hampton Roads Ecumenical Lodgings & Provisions, Inc. (HELP, Inc.) is sponsoring a Community Day on Tuesday, May 29th, 2012 in cooperation with HarborPointe community church at 351 E. Mercury Blvd, Hampton, Virginia from 9:00am – 4:00pm.
Additional community partners that will be be on site providing services are:
Division of Motor Vehicles Mobile Unit (complete DMV services on site)
Lion’s Club Sight and Hearing Mobile Unit (providing eye glasses and hearing tests)
HELP Mobile Unit (providing case management services to homeless and those in crisis)
Hampton Veteran’s Administration (services to the homeless veterans)
Peninsula Agency on Aging (Informational)
The Breakthrough Center (Community Resource Partner providing Spritual Guidance)
Hands and Hands, Inc. (Voter Registration)
Peninsula Institute for Community Health (Diabetic Screenings)
HELP Medical Clinic (Prostate Screenings and Initial Evaluation for the Free Clinic)
La Vista Mobile Optical (Vision screening, eye exams, eye glass repair and distribution)
Hampton Health Department (Blood Pressure Screening)
Sentara School of Nursing (Assisting with medical screenings)
There will be a brief opening ceremony at 9:00am with Congressman Bobby Scott, Senator John C. Miller, Mayor Molly Ward andHampton City Councilman Chris Stuart (other elected officials invited). Also, there will be refreshments, donated gifts and other items of interest during the day.
H.E.L.P., Inc. is a non-profit faith based organization that was founded in 1982 to serve the needs of those in crisis in our community. Our mission is to “Uplift people in crisis and to end homelessness”.
