About this ministry

Friends of Touch is a Christian ministry dedicated to giving children an opportunity and a voice. Our mission is to show Orphaned and Vulnerable Children (OVC) the love of Christ in a tangible way – to nurse, equip and release them to be leaders and professionals, and to equip them to reach their God-given potential.

We are changing children’s lives through child sponsorship, improved education & facilities, by providing shelter and food, and the everlasting Word of God.

We believe that God has called compassionate men and women all around the world to answer the cry of children who live in abject poverty. We believe that He has equipped the church to be a place of healing and holistic care for families in crisis. We believe that the church in North America can partner with the church in Africa in creative community to glorify His name by releasing families from poverty and despair.

Special Project – September 2012

We are providing education for 500 children, but there are not enough desks. Students sit 4 to 6 per desk, when desks are only designed for up to three students. This makes for distractions, fights, and poor performance. Secondly, the desks we have are dangerous. Their joints are loose and some have nails and splitting wood that can cut the children. The desks are wobbly and collapse, leading to classroom disruption and injury. All 500 students at Calvary Primary need a safe place to sit and complete their assignments. The children are eager to learn, and when they are given that chance, they do well, working to better themselves and their situation.
